FAQs

Our Suitability Guidelines

Our main priority is to provide a safe environment for all our clients; we have some guidelines that are in place to ensure safety for all:

  • All dogs must be fully up to date with all vaccinations when coming in for daycare and boarding. We do not require kennel cough vaccination, however we do recommend it.
  • All dogs must be sociable and interact with other dogs and humans. We do work with dogs with anxiety and nervous tendancies.
  • All dogs must be pre assessed prior to booking in to daycare via a meet and greet and our half day free trial
  • We do not require your dog to be spayed or neutered but we can not have dogs in for day care or boarding that are in season.
  • Un-neutured male dogs must not display any aggressive behaviour or excessive humping or marking.

What times are services?

Small animal visits - 1 or 2 visits a day, usually between 8am-9am and 6pm-7pm but these can vary a little.

Puppy Visits - 1, 2 or 3 visits a day, usually between 8am-9am, 12pm-2pm and 6pm-7pm but these can vary a little.

Group Walks - We guarantee to collect your dog between 10am and 2pm barring exceptional circumstances. Our walks are 1 hour long and we time from when we actually start walking not before. If you like you can request 1st or 2nd walk and we will do our best to accommodate this but it may not always be possible.

Daycare pick ups/drop offs - We can collect your dog from within a 5 mile radius of Exmouth. We pick up between 8am-9am and drop off between 6pm-7pm. If your dog is booked for a drop off after a half day AM we will drop them home after 1pm. If they are booked for a pick up for a half day PM we will pick them up before 1pm.

Daycare Centre - The daycare centre is open from 8am to 6pm, please ensure your dog is in by 10am at the latest if they are booked in for a walk that day too.

Early/Late Drop off/Pick up - We offer pre-arranged early drop off and late pick up from our home. From 7am for early drop off and until 8pm for late pick up.

Home from home boarding pick up/drop off by us - If you have booked for us to collect or drop home your dog for home boarding, the times will be the same as the daycare pick up times above.

Home from home boarding pick up/drop off by you - Please drop your dog to us for their first home boarding at 8am so that they have time to settle in before a walk and before going to the house they will be sleeping at. If your dog is used to staying with us a 1pm drop off can be booked but wherever possible please stick with the 8am time for the same reasons as above. We find this very much limits any stress for the dogs.

Sundays & Bank Holidays - Our daycare centre is open Monday to Saturday but on Sundays and bank holidays we work from home. Most timings are the same except that we start our day from 9am. So any visits, pick ups, drop offs etc will be from 9am and early drop off from 8am rather than 7am.

Can we visit the facility before we book our dog into daycare?

Of course! We are unable to show you around whilst other clients dogs are here at the day care centre, but we are happy to arrange a meet and greet for you to have a look around after closing. This applies to the daycare centre only, not our homes but there are plenty of pictures and floor plans on this website for you to get a better idea about where your dog will be staying overnight.

What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog in daycare?

We work hard to ensure a happy, balanced group of dogs in our day care and boarding set ups. The lay out of our centre allows us to have different groups of dogs so that everyone has friends that they get on with. This allows playing groups, nap groups and space for older dogs to get away from younger pups.

Will my dog be walked throughout the day?

Our day care cost does not include a walk in the price but this can be added on!

How young can my dog start daycare?

Your puppy can start in daycare once they have been fully vaccinated. The wait time after their final vaccinations is 2 weeks. In this time we can do puppy visits in your home.

Do I need to book daycare for my dog?

Yes, we ask you to book your dogs into daycare in advance to avoid disappointment. If you need any urgent care please do give us a call. It's not very often we can't help in one way or another

Where do you walk?

If they are in daycare or just on our normal walks we love to walk in lots of different places around the exmouth, budleigh and lympstone areas, including woodbury common. We have a clinton estate and pebblebed heath walkers licence with allows us to walk on the commons. We also run a secure field walk each week to try the more flighty dogs off lead.
